SIMON Cox believes Ben Watson is just what the doctor ordered to strengthen Albion's midfield in the closing stages of the race for promotion.
The on-loan Wigan man helped the Baggies come from behind to beat Derby 3-1 on his debut on Saturday.
And Cox feels the former Crystal Palace ace's experience adds a calmness to the way the Baggies play.
"He's decent, he's good technically," said Cox.
"He's probably been an unsung hero in a lot of teams he's played for.
"He keeps the boys ticking along, gets things started, gets on the ball, and switches play.
"He's not one for getting on the end of crosses but he's good at getting on the ball.
"He's got a good range of passing and he'll do well.
"We've got good players in that area like Youssouf Mulumbu and Dozza.
"But if the gaffer thought he needed to strengthen in that area then he's brought in a good player."
