ALBION Under-18s fought out a goalless draw at Liverpool in the FA Premier Academy League (Group C) on Saturday.
Ryan Allsop was the hero as he pulled off two outstanding second-half saves to extend the Baggies' unbeaten run to three games following a 2-2 draw with Manchester City and a 3-0 win over Manchester United.
"It was a good draw there against a strong Liverpool team," said Hawthorns coach Keith Downing.
"There weren't many chances at either end.
"They probably just shaded it a little bit.
"At half-time we spoke about defensive shape and passing the ball better.
"In the second half Ryan Allsop made two very good saves to keep us in the game.
"In the last half-hour we took a grip of the game and finished very strongly.
"We made some good counter-attacking breaks and missed a really good chance right at the end from ten yards to win the game.
"Overall we showed resilience and it's always a tough proposition playing teams from the top clubs in the country."
