ALBION have confirmed Gonzalo Jara is safe after he spoke to the club from his native Chile.
The versatile Baggies player was back in his homeland when it was hit by Saturday's devastating earthquake.
Jara is due to report back to The Hawthorns in the coming weeks to begin his rehabilitation from the broken metatarsal that ended his season just over a fortnight ago.
Albion sporting and technical director Dan Ashworth said: "Gonzalo has travelled back to Santiago for a couple of weeks before he begins his rehabilitation with us.
"We have been in contact with him and, although he is obviously shocked by the events, we are pleased to report he is safe."
