JAMES Morrison (heel) could see first-team action for the first time in more than ten months after being included in Roberto Di Matteo's squad for tomorrow's FA Cup fifth-round replay with Reading (ko 7.45pm).
And the Baggies have also been boosted by the news Marek Cech is also available for selection after three weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
Tomorrow's cup clash comes too soon for Giles Barnes (Achilles) and Ishmael Miller (ankle) and loan signings Frank Nouble and Ben Watson are cup tied, while Jerome Thomas is suspended.
"We'll have Marek Cech and James Morrison back in the squad," said Di Matteo.
"We have to take into consideration that Cech has been out for three weeks and Morrison for ten months.
"But it's good to have some players back.
"Morrison's been doing well but competitive games are completely different.
"The fact he has been out of the game for a long time means we have to be careful with him.
"Barnes is getting closer but he's not in the frame for tomorrow.
"It's hard for me to say when Giles and Ishmael Miller will be back."
The Albion chief has urged patience with Morrison, who last played for Albion in April's 4-2 Barclays Premier League defeat at Manchester City.
"We've been waiting for him for almost a whole season," Di Matteo added.
"We know how important a player he can be for us.
"I wouldn't put too high hopes on him coming into the team and being on top of his game.
"It's going to take him a little while to get into the rhythm of the games.
"He's quite positive and he's looking forward to being involved again.
"It's been very frustrating for him to be out this long."
