Boss to ring changes for cup

Posted on: Fri 12 Feb 2010

ROBERTO Di Matteo has confirmed he will make changes for Saturday's FA Cup fifth-round trip to Reading (ko 3pm) - and revealed he will have a number of youth-team players among his substitutes.

The Baggies boss has also ruled out Ishmael Miller (ankle) and Marek Cech (hamstring) for the next two games.

And he will be without cup-tied loan signing Frank Nouble and suspended Jerome Thomas for the Madejski Stadium encounter, as well as long-term injury victim James Morrison (heel).

"We'll have to make changes as Nouble won't be available and no-one is coming back from injury," said Di Matteo.

"They are getting better but they definitely won't be available for Saturday or Tuesday.

"James Morrison won't be available for those games either.

He's working on his fitness now and hopefully sooner rather than later he can join in full training with the squad and then from there we'll have a better idea of when he'll be available for selection."

Media speculation today linked Chris Wood with a loan move to League One outfit Bristol Rovers.

But Di Matteo insists no-one is going anywhere for now.

"I'm going to have a few youth-team players on the bench on Saturday," he added.

"You can't loan out too many."
