Di Matteo confirms Koumas interest

Posted on: Thu 11 Feb 2010

ROBERTO Di Matteo has confirmed Wigan midfielder Jason Koumas is one player on a list of names he is looking at to bring in on loan.

The former Albion fans' favourite spent four seasons with the Baggies before joining the Latics in a £5.3million move in July 2007.

In total, Koumas made 141 appearances for Albion, including 21 as a substitute, and scored 23 times.

"We've been linked with a few players and he is one of the players we are looking at," said Di Matteo.

"But it depends who we can get as well.

"It's not just who we want.

"The loan market opened on Tuesday.

"We're in contact with a number of clubs on players we are looking at.

"We get requests for our players and you would like them to go on loan but you can't because of the number of games and players we have available.

"The same situation probably applies to everyone else."
