Club and Thomas charged by FA

Posted on: Thu 11 Feb 2010

ALBION and Plymouth have both been charged by the Football Association for failing to control their players in Saturday's 1-0 win at Home Park.

Jerome Thomas also faces a fresh FA charge of violent conduct following his stoppage-time red card for a challenge on David McNamee.

The Baggies midfielder will attend a personal hearing at the FA on Tuesday.

An automatic four-game ban kicked in for Thomas following Saturday's game as it was his second straight red card of the season after also being sent-off in September's 2-0 League Cup third-round defeat at Arsenal.

An FA statement read: "Plymouth Argyle and West Bromwich Albion have both been charged with failing to control their players following an incident in the fixture at Home Park on Saturday 6 February 2010.

"The charges relate to a mass confrontation between players and officials in the Championship fixture.

"Both clubs have until 24 February to respond to the charges.

"Meanwhile, West Bromwich Albion's Jerome Thomas has been charged with violent conduct in relation to an incident that followed his dismissal in the same fixture.

"Thomas has until 6pm on Wednesday 10 February to reply to the charge."
