First league meetings

Albion first played Scunthorpe United on September 22, 2007, at Glanford Park, when they won 3-2 in the Football League Championship. Leon Barnett, Christ Brunt and Filipe Teixeira all scored, while Andrew Crosby scored a penalty and Martin Paterson notched for the hosts. When Scunthorpe visited The Hawthorns later that season on December 29 Albion thrashed them 5-0. Kevin Phillips bagged a brace, while Robert Koren, Zoltan Gera and Craig Beattie also scored.

Big wins and defeats

Albion's biggest win over Scunthorpe was also the first league meeting between the two sides at The Hawthorns on December 29, 2007.

Interesting Fact

Scunthorpe goalkeeper Joe Murphy played in only four Coca-Cola Championship fixtures for the Baggies during his time at The Hawthorns - but won every one.
