ROBERTO Di Matteo says he will be trying to add one or two new faces to his squad when the emergency loan window opens next week.
The Baggies boss was hoping to do more business during the January transfer window but is pleased to have signed winger Andy Slory before Monday's 5pm deadline.
"We made an effort for Victor Moses but we weren't lucky there," he said.
"A Premier League team came in and we couldn't compete with that.
"We got Andy Slory and we were looking to get one or two more players in - but it's difficult in the loan market.
"Everybody is there but you have to identify the right player who will give our squad a boost.
"Strengthening our squad is not easy.
"The emergency loan market opens on February 9 so we will still be looking to make one or two additions to our squad."
Shelton Martis has departed for Doncaster in a three-and-a-half year deal and Leon Barnett's loan at Coventry City has been extended until the end of the season.
Filipe Teixeira has also joined Barnsley on a month's loan - but Di Matteo insists he has not closed the door on the Portuguese midfielder's first-team chances at The Hawthorns.
"Shelton's contract was going to run out in the summer and he received a very good offer from Doncaster of a long-term contract," Di Matteo added.
"Filipe hasn't been involved much with us so for him it's a case of going to play and then we will review it again."
