SCOTT Carson is hoping to make amends for his red card against Cardiff by giving Dean Kiely his full backing during the three games he is suspended for.
The Baggies skipper will now lose his ever-present league record as he is unavailable for Monday's home clash with QPR, Saturday week's trip to Blackpool and the Boxing Day Hawthorns encounter with Peterborough.
But he has decided to attend all three matches to help Kiely warm up before kick-off and offer his support for the team from the sidelines.
"Me and Deano are really good friends," said Carson.
"We had a conversation and I will help him out in the next couple of weeks.
"I am going to go to all of the games and warm him up before the games.
"He has done it for me this season, since he took over the coaching as well, so that's the least I can do for him.
"I thought about it on Tuesday after the game.
"We have a conversation every day and I said I would do all the warm-ups and go through all the routines on matchday.
"I just want to keep as close to the dressing room as I can.
"I have to keep giving the lads support and not let their heads go down.
"Deano has helped me all season and I think it's worked really well.
"I have been happy with my form and hopefully I can give him something back."
The England keeper is determined to learn from his mistake against the Bluebirds and revealed he intends to offer Roberto Di Matteo a personal apology.
"There 's nothing I can do and I'm definitely not going to kick up a fuss about anything like that," Carson added.
"I know what I've done and I am big enough to take that on the chin.
"I will just put it to the back of my mind and move on but try to learn from my mistakes.
"After the game there's nothing you can say.
"I apologised, but most of the players had been in that situation themselves and they know what it's like, so they were totally understanding.
"I have only seen the gaffer briefly but I will speak to him in the next couple of days and apologise to him personally because I feel as if I have let him, the players and everybody down.
"Most of all I think I've let myself down.
"People who know me know I just love football and I would never miss a minute's training, never mind three games, so it's going to be a difficult couple of weeks."
*As a special pre-Christmas present to the fans, 'ALBION', the official matchday programme, is on sale for just £2 at Monday's game with QPR.
