REUBEN Reid fired his first goal in Albion colours and Lateef Elford-Alliyu bagged a brace as the reserves beat Macclesfield Town 3-2.
Summer-signing Reid put the Baggies in front in the eighth minute when he fired home Kayleden Brown's left-wing cross at the back post.
Elford-Alliyu doubled the visitors' lead 17 minutes later when he rounded the goalkeeper to slot home after Filipe Teixeira and Simon Cox, who got 70 minutes under his belt, exchanged passes.
Town pulled a goal back following a scramble from a set-piece but Keith Downing's men restored their two-goal advantage three minutes before the break when Elford-Alliyu broke free and slotted home.
Brown, Elford-Alliyu, Cox and Mantom all had chances to extend Albion's lead in the second-half before the Silkmen added a second in the 75th minute to make it a frantic finish.
Senior pros Reid, Teixeira and Leon Barnett all played the full 90 minutes of the totesport.com Central League Central Division encounter.
Downing said: "Overall it was a scrappy affair.
"The players really had to battle and compete.
"It was a good learning curve for the youngsters in the team and the senior pros got some good time on the pitch."
