KAYLEDEN Brown's double sandwiched a Lateef Elford-Alliyu strike as Albion Under-18s fired three first-half goals to beat Charlton 3-0 at the weekend.

The Baggies eased to victory against the Addicks without key men Saido Berahino and George Thorne, who were on international duty with England Under-17s, in the FA Premier Academy League clash.

Albion coach Keith Downing said: "Charlton started the brighter and in the first 15 minutes had a couple of good opportunities to take the lead.

"But once we settled down we played particularly well from the middle part of the first-half.

"We got 16 shots away in the first-half alone and scored three times.

"I was pleased in the second-half we showed a disciplined professional performance.

"We kept a very solid shape and didn't look like we were going to concede.

"We broke on occasions and could have added to the score.

"But I was pleased with the game management because we didn't become too expansive and open, so we didn't get caught out.

"Saido and George were away with England so Akil Grier and Lee Lynch came in and showed the strength in depth we've got."

Baggies Under-18s visit Middlesbrough on Saturday (ko 1pm).
