Clement boost for Baggies

Posted on: Sat 15 Aug 2009

ALBION could be boosted by the return of Neil Clement to full training next week.

But the Baggies are none the wiser as to when James Morrison could make his comeback from the frustrating heel injury that saw him miss the final five games of last season.

Clement has been sidelined for 12 months due to an articular cartilage defect in his right knee.

But he is back in light training and is edging closer to fitness.

"Neil Clement is doing some shorter stuff now and he might be training with us next week if everything goes to plan," said Roberto Di Matteo.

"James Morrison is still out and I can't give a date on when he might be back.

"I don't think anyone thought his injury would keep him out for so long.

"It's not good news for the player or us because he's an important player for us."
