Albion unveil exciting Open Day programme
ALBION have unveiled a detailed programme of exciting events for their FREE Interactive Open Day this Sunday.
A host of fun activities will get underway from 10am in and around The Hawthorns, including a rare opportunity to enjoy a 'behind the scenes walkabout', setting off at regular intervals from East Stand reception between 10am and 1pm.
This will take in parts of the East Stand and refurbished West Stand - including the home and away dressing rooms and players' tunnel - the pitch perimeter and technical areas (disabled fans will need to contact the club in advance by calling 0871 271 1100 if they wish to participate in this activity).
The Baggies' Stadium Megastore will also be open, giving fans the chance to buy the new UMBRO home kit, which goes on sale for the first time the day before (To see the kit and get full sales details, click here).
The East Stand Ticket Office will be selling season tickets, memberships, tickets for Albion's home friendly with AS Nancy on Saturday, August 1 (ko 3pm) and the warm-up matches at Shrewsbury on Wednesday, July 22 (ko 7.45pm) and Walsall three days later (ko 3pm).
Academy coaches will stage training sessions with their Under-11s, 14s and 16s players between 10.15am and 3.30pm at the club's indoor training facility.
And the open day's biggest attraction will give fans the chance to meet the players for autographs and photographs in the East Stand's Richardson Suite between 2pm and 4pm.
Fans are urged to arrive early as anticipated high demand to see the players will mean no-one will be allowed to join the queue after approximately 3.30pm.
The East Stand car park will also be a hive of activity throughout the day, with parents able to let the kids loose on Albion Community Programme's sports-based activities.
A 15-by-ten metre Kickz Pitch will give kids the chance to participate in three-versus-three games throughout the day.
An open-age Freestyling competition will take place between 10 and 2pm and mini-cricket action is on offer from noon to 1pm.
A inflatable football obstacle course to test your dribbling and shooting skills is available all day and there will be stalls promoting the Community Programme's work and Junior Baggies membership.
Study Support is also running a Fantasy Football competition and an inflatable 'Big Brother' diary room, giving fans the chance to leave feedback via an Apple Mac web camera.
The Barclays Spaces 4 Sport Community Sports Hall will also be busy with displays by the power chair team from 10am to 11am, the blind team between 11am and noon, and pan disability team from noon to 1pm, while a Disability Crossbar Challenge will be in full flow from 1pm.
There will also be plenty of other attractions on site, including a virtual video tour of the club's training ground featuring Sporting & Technical Director Dan Ashworth, a British Army climbing wall for fans to try, RSPB, RSPCA, YMCA, Guide Dogs for the Blind and British Legion charity information stalls, and catering facilities.
As if that wasn't enough, the BRMB Radio Thunder trucks will be there from 11am to 4pm providing a feast of music and entertainment.
Free car parking will be available at the Tom Silk site on a first-come, first-served basis.
So, come along and see what's going on at YOUR club!
