Mowbray dismisses Jones link

Posted on: Mon 25 May 2009

TONY Mowbray has rubbished media reports linking Albion with a move for Hibernian captain Rob Jones.

The Baggies boss took the 29-year-old centre-half to Easter Road on a free from Grimsby during his final four months as Hibs manager in 2006.

Jones has impressed for the Edinburgh club this term, scoring four goals in 31 SPL games, but Mowbray insists he is not on Albion's radar.

"I would suggest he won't be coming to the club," said the Hawthorns chief.

"I signed him for Hibs but is he right for our club at the moment? I would suggest no.

"There reports are sometimes down to agents trying to heighten the profile of their players."
