TONY Mowbray admits seeing his relegated troops pick up a solitary away win this term is a major source of frustration.
The Baggies' only win on the road came in September's trip to Middlesbrough when Jonas Olsson's strike gave Albion a 1-0 victory.
And, although it would prove too little, too late, the Hawthorns boss is hoping to go out on a positive note with three points at Blackburn on Sunday (ko 4pm).
Even a point could be enough for Albion to climb off bottom spot if Boro lose by three goals at West Ham.
"It's not going to help or hinder us if we win or lose on Sunday," said Mowbray.
"But we will be trying to win.
"It's important to finish off this season well and it would be nice to win another away game.
"It does rankle a little that we have only won once away from home this season.
"It would be nice to finish with a victory, especially for the away support that will make the trip.
"It would be nice to finish the season on a positive note."
The Albion chief is adamant the Ewood Park clash is not the time to blood any more of the club's promising youngsters.
And he admits the Championship could be a better environment for more of them to follow in the footsteps of striker Chris Wood.
"I don't think it's the time to look at more of the younger players," Mowbray added.
"If we'd got relegated a few weeks ago and there was a run of games to go, there might have been a chance for one or two of them as young Wood did.
"We will probably keep going with what we've been doing against Blackburn.
"I'm not sure there are any great benefits to throwing a boy in for a one-off game at Blackburn in the Premier League.
"Potentially, it could be more damaging than positive for them.
"I think the young players at our club realise there is an opportunity for them just around the corner.
"They've got to keep pushing on very, very hard.
"The league that we're going to from their perspective is probably a positive thing.
"There will be more opportunities to dip young players into that sort of environment than the harsh world of the Premier League."
