CHRIS Brunt has put his hot scoring streak down to the unselfish work of lone frontrunner Marc-Antoine Fortuné.

The Northern Ireland midfielder heads to Tottenham tomorrow (ko 3pm) looking to notch for the fourth successive game and add to his four goals in the last three matches.

And, although a move to the right wing has helped his form, he insists the efforts of on-loan Nancy striker Fortuné have given him the platform to make the most of his lethal left foot.

"Coming inside on my left foot probably opens up the opportunity for goals," said Brunt, who is now the Baggies' seven-goal top scorer this term.

"Where as if I'm on the left coming inside I'll be on my right foot and I'm not going to be as accurate.

"It has gone hand-in-hand I think.

"I'm probably more comfortable on the left, but I'm enjoying playing on the right at the minute, especially when we are playing well as a team.

"If that's where the gaffer wants me to play I'm happy with that.

"Marco has been up on his own for the last few games as well.

"He is a strong guy too, and he is good for me to play with, especially coming in from the right because you can play things into his feet and follow it into goalscoring areas.

"Because he is such a strong lad he holds the ball up well.

"He has been a big part of the system we are playing as well because of the physical side of his game.

"No disrespect to the other strikers we have got at the club, but he is the only player that can play that role for us at the minute.

"It has worked well.

"The results haven't always been there to show it for us but we are going in the right direction performance-wise.

Only time will tell if it is too late or not."

Brunt believes the Baggies' recent form in their last three games on the road, despite mustering only two points, should give them cause to be confident against Spurs.

But he insists they must cut out the mistakes that cost them so dearly in their 4-2 defeat at Manchester City last time on their travels.

"At the end of the day it's down to us and we can only affect our own results, so that's what we have got to do," he added.

"I'm not going to say the balls in our court because it's not and we need results to go our way as well.

"But if we can hold up our end of the bargain and hope for other things, there is no reason why we couldn't stay up.

"It's going to be tough and we are looking for a few other teams to do us favours.

"But if we can play the last four games the way we played against Sunderland then we can give ourselves a good chance.

"It's going to be a tough game against Spurs because they are a good side and they are very good at home.

"But we played well against them at The Hawthorns and hopefully we can produce a bit more of that.

"Away wins, and away points, have been a bit hard to come by for us this season.

"But I think in the last three away games we have been unlucky not to come away with more than two points, when we possibly could have got all nine if things had fallen for us.

"That's football - and that is the Premier League this season.

"We are definitely moving in the right direction for away games, and we played very well at Man City and got nothing out of the game.

"The negative thing for us was that we conceded four goals.

"But we've scored two goals in each of the last two away games.

"We are showing signs that we are capable of winning away games.

"It's just a matter of putting everything into place.

"We did that at home to Sunderland, so hopefully we can do it this week."
