Albion v Sunderland - team news

Posted on: Sun 26 Apr 2009

JAY Simpson makes his first start in three games as Tony Mowbray makes one enforced change to the side that lost 4-2 at Manchester City on Sunday.

The on-loan Arsenal striker replaces the injured James Morrison (heel) on the left wing as the Baggies boss keeps faith with an attacking 4-5-1 formation.

Shelton Martis returns from a groin injury and is included on the bench, where 17-year-old striker Chris Wood keeps his place.

Roman Bednar is not included in the squad having only just returned to training on Thursday following a hamstring injury.

Ricky Sbragia makes two changes to the Black Cats side that beat Hull 1-0 last weekend.

Marton Fulop replaces Craig Gordon, who misses out altogether due to injury, in goal and former Albion loan star Kieran Richardon returns from injury in place of Grant Leadbitter, who drops to the bench.

Ex-Baggie Paul McShane is named among the Sunderland substitutes.
