SHELTON Martis (groin) and Roman Bednar (hamstring) are injury doubts for Sunday's trip to Manchester City (ko 3pm).

The pair missed Saturday's 2-2 draw at Portsmouth after struggling with their respective problems in training last week and are being closely monitored.

But Gianni Zuiverloon is expected to be fit to face City after Tony Mowbray revealed it was only cramp that forced the right-back off in the 78th minute at Fratton Park.

"Shelton has got a groin problem, which he's had for a little while, but we've been nursing him through," said the Baggies boss.

"He tweaked it on Thursday and failed a fitness test so he didn't travel with us.

"Will it keep him out for longer?

"I don't know.

"It's not a bad one.

"He hasn't torn an abductor muscle or anything.

"I've had groin injuries in the past so I don't think he'll train this week - but it's not a six-week job either."

On six-goal top scorer Bednar, who netted Albion's injury-time winner in December's 2-1 victory over Mark Hughes' men, Mowbray added: "Roman felt a little twinge in the reserve game last week.

"He came in and trained on Friday and felt it wasn't right.

"It was playing on his mind.

"Ultimately, he wasn't fit enough to travel.

"I don't know how bad it is but we will wait and see how it develops."
