CRAIG Beattie believes Albion's strikers are beginning to find their groove in the Barclays Premier League.

The Scotland hitman came off the bench to open his English top-flight account in yesterday's 2-0 win over Tottenham.

Roman Bednar took his tally for the season to six against Spurs and Luke Moore opened his Baggies account in only his second start of the campaign against Manchester City eight days ago.

Beattie also believes the boys at the back are beginning to turn the corner after recording their first clean-sheet in 13 games yesterday.

"I was called back because Ishmael got injured and I was needed to boost the numbers," said Beattie.

"The manager is going to bring in players to create competition and that can only be healthy.

"But Luke got off the mark last week, I'm off the mark now and Roman has notched a few goals as well.

"At the moment the strikers are doing well and we're looking like keeping clean-sheets.

"We were unlucky to concede against Manchester City and we got a clean-sheet against Tottenham so we are giving ourselves a platform."

The former Celtic forward also insists there is a strong belief in the Albion camp they can pull off a second 'Great Escape'.

"We know we have got good players at the club with a good manager and good coaches with loads of ideas," he added.

"There is a good feeling at the club and there are plenty of games in this league that we can win.

"With games like Chelsea at the weekend you go there and see what you can get.

"They are games where you have to dig in and see what happens.

"But we know there are games we can win and we're confident we can stay in the league.

"Everybody believes we are going to stay in the league, make no mistake about it.

"The manager and the players all believe we are good enough to stay in the league and the fans help when they get behind us - it's all positive."
