Albion open door to major investors

Posted on: Fri 19 Dec 2008

JEREMY Peace has revealed the door is still open for major new investment in the club.

But the Albion board have made it clear they will only consider approaches from major investors with 'deep pockets' who will benefit the long-term future of the club.

"We asked in the summer if there was anyone out there who would like to come forward and make a significant investment," said Peace.

"We were willing to listen to any substantive and sensible proposals which were in the best long-term interests of the club.

"We stopped that process on July 31, simply because we didn't want it to impact on our preparations for the season.

"Now, given our league position, there is no harm in us reiterating that an opportunity is still there if an investor would like to open discussions with us.

"I must stress, though, that it needs to be a sizeable investor who can make an impact."
