ALBION Under-18s suffered a narrow defeat for the second successive weekend as they lost 1-0 at Bolton.
The Baggies had most of the pressure throughout the FA Premier Academy League (Group C) encounter but Wanderers took the lead early in the second half.
Michael Appleton's men then wasted several opportunities to level the scores.
"We were very comfortable in the first half and created a few decent opportunities," said the Baggies coach.
"We got the ball into Romaine Sawyers, which worked really well for us.
"But what I said at half-time was that I wanted to gett he ball into our midfield players 15 yards further up the pitch because we were coming far too deep to get the ball.
"We were a little bit more patient in the second half but it took them going ahead to spark us into life.
"For 30 minutes we produced wave after wave of attack but we were trying to score the perfect goal.
"We needed to get our shots off.
"We should at least have come away with a draw.
"But there's not a lot wrong with the team and the boys are sticking at it."
The Baggies host Wolves on Saturday (ko 11am).
