PAUL Robinson admits his friendship with Zoltan Gera will go out of the window for 90 minutes on Saturday when Albion take on Fulham at The Hawthorns (ko 3pm).
Gera, who has scored twice in seven games for the Cottagers this term, ended his four-year stay with the Baggies by joining the Cottagers on a Bosman in the summer.
The pair remain the best of buddies and Robbo has praised the Hungary international for his efforts last term when he fired ten goals to help Tony Mowbray's men win the Championship and reach the FA Cup semi-finals.
But he insists neither of them will be doing each other any favours during their Barclays Premier League meeting.
"A fit Zolly is an exceptional player and if he stays fit throughout the season Fulham have got an excellent signing," said Robinson.
"He can score goals and is a problem for any team with the way he plays.
"He is certainly a dangerman for us on Saturday and we have to be careful.
"I will be having a little chat with him!
"Seriously, Zolly knows what kind of player I am, and that I want to win, and if there is a 50/50 there I will go in for it with him.
"But we won't lose sleep over it because we'll always be friends.
"We will talk before the game and after it but during the 90 minutes we will both want to win."
The banter will be flowing between Robinson and Gera this week.
And Robbo admits Zolly's comedy antics are missed in the Baggies dressing room.
"I'm sure I'll give him a call today or tomorrow to wind him up and see how he is getting on and how his family are doing," he added.
"I do keep in touch with Zolly and speak to him every three or four weeks to find out how he is getting on.
"It's a big move for him to a totally different environment.
"His family have to get settled and he has to settle with the new players.
"I often ask him whether his English is getting any better now he is in London!
"He has conversations with my boy down the phone and they both shout 'little muppet' at each other.
"That's the type of person he is.
"He is a lovely lad and we were gutted to see him go.
"But he made the decision and that is part and parcel of football and life.
"He moved on but we do miss him in the dressing room because of his personality."
