JARED Hodgkiss has today joined Aberdeen on a five-month loan deal to gain first-team experience.

The 21-year-old will remain at the SPL outfit until January 15 and the Baggies have no right of recall.

Hodgkiss was rewarded with a new two-year Albion deal in August 2007, with a further year's option in the club's favour.

But he remains on the fringes of Tony Mowbray's squad and during last season was resticted to eight first-team appearances, largely due to the impressive form of fellow right-back Carl Hoefkens.

He has slipped further down the Hawthorns pecking order with the arrival of £3.2million summer-signing Gianni Zuiverloon.
