DEAN Kiely was today celebrating adding yet another prestigious award to Albion's long list of honours this season.
Just a day after accepting the chance to come out of international retirement and being named in the Republic of Ireland squad, the Baggies No.1 has won the Championship's 2007/08 PUMA Golden Glove.
Kiely scooped the prize thanks to his 18 clean sheets in all competitions this term as he helped Albion clinch the Championship title and reach an FA Cup semi-final.
He finished ahead of Wolves' Wayne Hennessey (17), Hull City's Boaz Myhill (16) and Bristol City's Adriano Basso, QPR's Lee Camp and Sheffield United's Paddy Kenny (all 14).
Kevin Phillips finished runner-up in the race for the Championship's PUMA Golden Boot - one behind 25-goal top scorer Wolves' Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, whose final tally included 13 strikes for former club Plymouth Argyle.
In announcing the PUMA Golden Boot and Golden Glove Award winners, Lord Mawhinney, Chairman of The Football League, said: "Goalscorers and goalkeepers are frequently the difference between success and failure in football.
"Each of these winners has made an enormous contribution to their club this season and they fully deserve this extra recognition."
Richard Callaway, Teamsports Marketing Manager at PUMA UK, added: "Strikers and goalkeepers can often win a match for their team with a last minute goal or breathtaking save.
"These accolades give us an opportunity to reward players of all levels - congratulations to all of the winners."
Goals and clean sheets in The Coca-Cola Football League, Carling Cup, Johnstone's Paint Trophy and FA Cup sponsored by E.ON have all counted towards the PUMA Golden Boot and Golden Glove awards.
