Wolves Res 2 Albion Res 2
SUPER-SUB Lateef Elford-Alliyu's late double saw Albion reserves fight back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Black Country derby rivals Wolves.
An inexperienced Baggies side found themselves 1-0 down inside the first minute and conceded in the 25th minute to trail 2-0 at the break.
Second-string boss-for-the-night Michael Appleton tinkered at the break and replaced Stefan Morrison with Elford-Alliyu in attack.
The England Under-16s striker pulled one back in the 70th minute with a deft 25-yard lob after latching onto Sebastien Lake-Gaskin's flick-on from Gavin Carlin's long punt.
And he smashed home the leveller five minutes from time after a neat one-two with Ricky Nicholls.
Albion missed a host of golden opportunities to take all three points in the Pontin's Holidays League Division One (Central) clash.
And the night was marred by the sending-off of Shelton Martis for dissent in the final minute.
Appleton said: "We didn't start very well and the early goal put us on the back foot.
"But after their second goal we geed ourselves up and created two or three good chances, as did Wolves on the counter-attack.
"At half-time I told our strikers to play a bit further apart because their full-backs were causing us problems.
"The kids were different class in the second half and we must have created ten clear-cut chances."
ALBION: Carlin, Hodgkiss, Saied, Labadie (Samuels 75), Martis, Hancox, Nicholls, Worrall, S Morrison (Elford-Alliyu HT), Lake-Gaskin, Compton. Subs not used: Knight, Pike, Sawyers.
