TONY Mowbray is remaining positive over Filipe Teixeira's knee injury.

The Portuguese ace was stretchered off in the 18th minute of today's 3-0 win over Plymouth following an innocuous clash with Gary Sawyer.

Teixeira, who was on crutches after the game, will now undergo a scan on Monday to discover the extent of the damage.

"The physios are pretty confident it's nothing too major," said Mowbray.

"We'll hopefully confirm that with the scan on Monday.

"The knee is pretty solid and intact and I don't think there is any major damage."

Albion were without 17-goal top scorer Kevin Phillips and midfielder James Morrison against Argyle through knee injuries.

But Mowbray is hopeful the duo will train on Monday and be available for selection at Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday (ko 7.45pm).

"We thought Kevin was going to start training again on Thursday but he didn't train all week," the Hawthorns chief added.

"We've just given him the extra few days to make sure, come Monday, he can start again.

"I'm pretty sure he will and the same goes for James, who has slight tendonitis.

"James was pretty desperate to train on Friday and be involved today.

"But I thought it was prudent to give him a three-day break and, hopefully by Monday, it will be gone and he'll be available again."
