Albion extend UMBRO deal

Posted on: Thu 24 Jan 2008

ALBION are delighted to announce they have today extended their kit deal with UMBRO for a further three years.

The Baggies renewed the successful partnership they enjoyed with UMBRO during the late seventies and early eighties at the start of the 2006/07 season.

And the international brand will now remain the official supplier of the Baggies' playing and training kit until 2011.

On signing the deal, Albion's Sales & Marketing Director, Tim Gardiner, said: "We have enjoyed a great relationship with UMBRO over the last couple of years.

"The opportunity to become the Club's official kit supplier from next season onwards attracted a lot of interest and we were courted by several brands.

"But we felt extending our deal with such an established name as UMBRO was right for the Club and supporters.

"The style and quality of UMBRO's training and playing kit has proved extremely popular with both the playing staff and fans.

"I'm confident the supporters will be looking forward to wearing Albion and UMBRO-branded gear for the three seasons to come."

UMBRO's Director of Football, Simon Marsh, said: "Back in 2006 it was always our intention to create a long-term relationship with West Bromwich Albion Football Club and therefore we are delighted to have been successful in extending our relationship through until 2011.

"The competitive nature of these discussions was an indication that the club is well placed to realise its ambitions and we are sure that Baggies supporters will enjoy some exciting times ahead.

"During the next three seasons UMBRO will continue to produce innovative product for the club's playing staff and supporters alike and in doing so respect the traditions and values of this proud club.

"All of us at UMBRO look forward to the next three years and in the meantime we wish the club every success in it's quest for promotion back to the Premiership."
