Play poker on Sky Sports

Posted on: Tue 27 Nov 2007

PartyPoker.com, Albion's official online poker partner, is giving football fans up and down the country the chance to rub shoulders with their favourite stars in the Sports Stars Challenge III, a televised poker tournament which will be broadcast on Sky Sports early next year.

It is the first time that fans will take part in the popular event, now in its third year, which features stars from all walks of the sporting world.

Last year's final table featured the likes of ex-Arsenal footballer Ray Parlour, the undisputed best darts player of all-time Phil 'The Power Taylor' and former snooker world champion Ken Doherty.

Players then earn points for their finishing position, with the six players with the most points from the three freerolls in November, December and January booking their place for the televised final.

The six qualifiers will then battle it out against each other in front of the Sky Sports cameras at the Sports Stars Challenge III for a £6,000 winner takes-all prize pool.

All players who have signed up for PartyPoker.com through their club's website since August are automatically eligible to take advantage of this unique opportunity.

If you haven't yet signed up for PP.com you can do so by clicking here.

All new players are also eligible for a 30 per cent sign-up bonus, up to £75, and don't worry if you do not know how to play as you learn for free at PartyPoker.com.

The tournament is for poker players of all levels with the first freeroll taking place on Thursday, November 29 at 8pm (3pm in PartyPoker.com lobby).

A PartyPoker.com spokesman said, "This kind of opportunity doesn't come along that often.

"It gives players a great chance of meeting their sporting heroes and testing their poker skills in front of TV cameras at the same time."

Don't forget your club benefits from every sign-up through the site.
