Tipton 1 Albion Res 2 (AET)
ALBION needed Stefan Morrison's extra-time strike to beat Tipton Town 2-1 and secure their passage into the Birmingham Senior Cup second round.
The young striker netted for the third successive reserve-team game as the Baggies came from behind to steal victory in the 98th minute.
The hosts opened the scoring in the 25th minute direct from a free-kick to lead at the break.
But half-time substitute Josh Knight levelled for Craig Shakespeare's men 15 minutes from normal time to take the game into extra-time.
"We had a very young side out that struggled against the physicality of a men's side in the first-half," said Shakespeare.
"We didn't tackle enough and weren't competitive or brave enough to get on the ball.
"In the second-half we tried much harder and created numerous chances.
"We defended much better and showed good resilience.
"We just couldn't find the winner in normal time.
"I was impressed by the application the lads showed and the togetherness in trying to get back in the game was there for all to see."
ALBION: Daniels, Hurst (Samuels 60), Hancox, Bruce (Worrall HT), Manchester, Mason, Nichols, Saied, Morrison, Alliyu (Knight HT), Lake-Gaskin. Subs not used: Lloyd-Weston (gk), Pike.
