Forest Res 2 Albion Res 0
SECOND-HALF goals from Ian Breckin and trialist Yannick Salem sentenced Albion reserves to a 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest.
New boys Chris Brunt and Bartosz Slusarski made their first appearance in Albion colours.
Both got 90 minutes under their belts ahead of Saturday's Championship clash with Barnsley (ko 3pm) and £3million signing Brunt almost opened his Baggies account after hitting the crossbar with a free-kick just before the break.
Robert Koren continued his comeback from a serious eye injury as he followed up his 21-minute run-out in last night's 2-0 Carling Cup win at Peterborough by playing 70 minutes in the Pontin's Holidays League Division One (Central) reverse.
Albion second-string boss Craig Shakespeare said: "It was a fairly even first-half with both sides creating few chances.
"We were poor in the second-half and conceded from a set-piece early on.
"We never really got amongst them, stood off them far too much and let them play.
"We were always chasing the game and didn't have any decent possession of the ball.
"We never really asked them any questions."
