Hawthorns charity zip slide postponed

Posted on: Tue 14 Aug 2007

DUE to circumstances beyond their control Adventure Challenge (ACE) have been forced to postpone their charity zip slide from the roof of The Hawthorns on Saturday, September 8 and Sunday 9.

The organisation is now aiming to set up new dates in spring 2008, giving participants more fundraising time.

Volunteers can zip across the pitch at 30mph to raise money for their chosen charity - either a nominated charity from the club or a charity of their choice.

For further information contact one of the charities below or, to support a charity of your choice, contact Adventure Challenge Events on 0114 233 5858 or email ianw@acefundraising.co.uk.

The Baggies' nominated charities include Action Heart, Community Programme, Project Rhino, National Osteoporosis Society, St Giles Hospice and The Royal British Legion.

ACE manages events across the country and has supported charities in raising over one million pounds since it was set up in 2005.

It is also a member of the institute of fundraising which sets high standards throughout fundraising events.

Check out ACE's official website www.acefundraising.co.uk.

The Hawthorns event is open to local charities.

The following are just some of the charities who are already involved with the event, Diabetes UK, Brake, Leukaemia Care and Cancer Research.
