1: Tell us about your first professional game:
CD: It was for Rochdale at Port Vale - the first game of the 2009/10 season - and it finished 1-1. I was supposed to just be on the bench but the first choice centre-half got injured, so I started in the end. I had practised and trained for that moment so it was a great feeling to be involved.
2: Tell us about your first professional goal:
CD: It was in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at home to Bradford. The ball came to me at the edge of the box. I chested it down and had a go on the volley. I didn't even see it go in! I wheeled away and slid on my knees. I must have looked odd because I had a big bandage on my head due to a cut I'd suffered earlier!
3: Tell us about your first red card:
CD: I've not had one yet...touch wood.
4: Tell us about your first professional pre-season tour:
CD: I went to Spain with Rochdale and I was not sure what to expect. As a new player in the squad, I had to sing a song in front of all the lads. They had all been warning me it was going to be hard work, which it was. It was certainly no holiday but I had a good time. It was a great experience for me.
5: Tell us about your first derby match:
CD: It would have been at home to Bury in August 2009 and we won 3-0. You know it's important to the fans and the amount of people who attended the game showed that. One player scored our third goal from the penalty spot and then ran the full length of the pitch to celebrate in front of the Bury fans. It wasn't the wisest thing to do. The Bury fans weren't very happy!
6: Tell us about your first kit:
CD: My dad bought me a Manchester United shirt when I was a little boy. He's from Manchester and is a big United fan.
7: Tell us about the first player you swapped shirts with:
CD: I don't do that very often but I swapped with Southampton's Rickie Lambert this season because he's a former Dale player, so there was a connection there for me.
8: Tell us about your first manager/head coach:
CD: It's Keith Hill, the Rochdale manager. I signed as a pro under him. He's given me my break in football and he's someone I find very approachable.
9: Tell us about your first significant injury:
CD: Towards the end of last year, I fractured my cheekbone going up for a corner. I wasn't out for very long but it was a period with games on Saturdays and Tuesdays, so it was a busy time. It was a bit weird because I could train as normal but I wasn't allowed to have contact with anyone, or go up for the ball. As a defender, that's a difficult instinct to ignore! In my first training session back, I defended a ball by going up to head it. The physio went mad!
10: Who was your first-ever room-mate on away trips in your professional career?
CD: A lad called Matthew Flynn. He's at Rochdale and is a bit of a prankster. We get on well!
