I'LL be heading back to the stadium where I made my first-ever Barclays Premier League start almost four years to the day on Saturday.

That turned out to be a great day for me at Old Trafford as I helped Middlesbrough earn a 1-1 draw.

It's a hard place to go and it seems like you either do well or take a pasting.

Fortunately, I've never lost at Old Trafford in the league.

In the three times I went there with Boro, we drew everytime.

The lads here are on a high at the moment so we'll just go there and give it our all.

It's all about results at the moment and even if we just nick a point it will be a great result.

Most of the boys have had a little break since the last game against Fulham and recharged the batteries, so they are itching to get going again.

I kept myself ticking over by making my first appearance in a competitive game for Scotland - a goalless draw with Norway at Hampden Park on Saturday.

The result didn't go our way but, from a personal point of view, I went out to enjoy it - and I did.

I had a few shots and a header, which I reckon I might score with if I had it again, even though I'm not the best header of the ball!

I think I did okay and George Burley seemed pleased with my performance.

It's always good to hear any manager say nice things about you, especially your international boss.

I'm just hoping I can transfer my club form to the international scene.

It would be great to score at United.

I have scored against them before, when I hit an equaliser for Boro at the Riverside Stadium in December 2006.

Unfortunately, the man who was my international skipper at the weekend, Darren Fletcher, popped up with what proved to be the decisive goal in a 2-1 defeat two minutes later.

Darren's a nice lad and I'll see him before the game.

He's vice captain for Scotland normally but took over the captain's armband from Steve McManus, who was out.

Darren is one of those people who can get you going.

He's always talking and giving out instructions.

He's still only young so, as he gets older, he'll be a really good captain for Scotland.

He's at a top club and is playing alongside great players so you've got to look at players like him as a good example to follow.

United have got a fantastic team and we've just got to go out and play to our best.

You never know, we might cause an upset.
