STOPPAGE-TIME goals at both ends from Graham Dorrans and sub DJ Campbell brought a fitting end to a pulsating Midlands derby at Pride Park.

The belligerent Baggies battled back from a goal down to extend their unbeaten streak to six games - but it was almost so much more.

Albion harshly went in 1-0 down at the break courtesy of Paul Dickov's deflected strike in the 41st minute.

But Roberto Di Matteo's men showed great battling qualities in the second half and got their just desserts when man-of-the-moment Simon Cox bundled home his sixth goal in five matches in the 82nd minute.

Incredibly, Dorrans fired the visitors ahead in the 93rd minute following a fine piece of individual skill - sending the 3,000-plus away fans into raptures.

But the Rams refused to lie down and, with almost the last touch of the game, ex-Blues striker Campbell pinched a leveller two minutes later.

The draw saw Albion maintain their six-point gap over third spot in the table.

Di Matteo had to make one enforced change to his side after Jerome Thomas sustained a hamstring injury in training yesterday.

Marek Cech was pushed up to left midfield and Joe Mattock returned from a foot injury to slot back in at left-back.

Backed by a huge home crowd, Derby started brightly and Scott Carson was forced to swoop low to his left to cut out Gary Teale's left-wing cross in the second minute.

But he could only parry the ball and had to clear with his right boot before ex-Baggies striker Rob Hulse gobbled up the rebound.

Jay McEveley had to be alert in the seventh minute as he stepped in to deny Gianni Zuiverloon a shot on goal inside the box after a flowing move from the visitors.

A minute later, Albion came agonisingly close to breaking the deadlock.

A well-worked free-kick saw Dorrans roll the ball to Cox ten yards out and his instant strike hit the right-hand post and ran out for a goal-kick.

Luke Moore slotted in Cech down the left in the 13th minute and he lofted a cross to the back post where Brunt missed his volley.

Albion had gradually seized control of proceedings and Dorrans' quick feet on the edge of the box enabled him to find Cech in a good position on the left-hand side of the box in the 18th minute.

The World Cup-bound Slovakia international cut the ball back for Cox, who chose not to strike it first time and then saw his shot bravely blocked by Dean Moxey.

A melee ensued after a Robbie Savage foul on Dorrans in the centre-circle and both the Baggies midfielder and the Rams' Dickov were shown yellow cards by referee Darren Deadman on the half-hour mark.

From the resultant Brunt free-kick, the ball deflected off Cox and Stephen Bywater just pipped Abdoulaye Meite to the ball in the six-yard box.

The hosts sprang up the other end where Dickov nodded Fredrik Stoor's ball back to Teale and the Scottish winger sliced his volley from the edge of the area well wide of the right-hand post.

Moore teed up Cox 20 yards out in the 34th minute - but again McEveley blocked the Albion hitman's shot.

County almost took an undeserved lead five minutes before the break.

Teale's driven free-kick from the left was deflected goalwards by Zuiverloon, but Carson pulled off a tremendous reaction save low to his right to prevent the ball flying just inside the post.

But it only proved a temporary reprieve.

Just a minute later, the ball was fed inside to Dickov who crashed a deflected 15-yard shot off the underside of bar before seeing the ball bounce down and into the net.

Albion regrouped and Cech picked out Moore in the box with a lofted ball in first-half stoppage time but the ex-Villa man was muscled out of it by McEveley before he could get his shot away.

There was no let up in the furious-paced action after the break and, in the 49th minute, Lee Croft failed to get any distance on his clearing header from Dorrans' left-wing corner and Brunt nodded it back just past the post.

Seconds later, Dickov spun Jonas Olsson 20 yards out and Carson could only parry the Scot's strike before again kicking the ball away before Hulse could get there.

Olsson came to the Baggies' rescue in the 52nd minute when he blocked Stephen Pearson's goalbound shot from Hulse's pull-back.

But Derby's purple parch proved short-lived and Albion soon had the Rams pegged back inside their own half.

Zuiverloon swung in a cross from the right and Olsson headed inches over the crossbar from ten yards.

Di Matteo made a change in the 57th minute as Filipe Teixiera, returning from injury, came on for Mattock and slotted in at left midfield, with Cech dropping to left-back.

A minute later, Brunt's right-wing cross just evaded Dorrans at the back post and bounced awkwardly for Cox before running out of play.

Jara slid the ball behind the Rams' defence in the 65th minute and Bywater just managed to get a crucial touch before Cox could get there and Stoor cleared the danger.

Di Matteo made another change three minutes later as Roman Bednar came on for Moore. That was followed by a Derby substitution as Croft made way for ex-Villa man Lee Hendrie.

Seconds later, Dorrans found Brunt out wide on the right and his delicious curling cross flew just out of reach of the diving Cox in the six-yard box.

But Albion kept going and Olsson headed Dorrans' free-kick goalwards in the 80th minute, with McEveley unwittingly deflecting it wide for a corner to save Derby's bacon.

However, a deserved equaliser finally arrived two minutes later.

Brunt swung in another trademark centre - this time with his right foot - and Cox displayed all of his predatory instincts to bundle it home at the near post to score for the third successive game.

Albion scented victory and looked to have sealed successive win No.5 in the third minute of stoppage time.

A swift break saw Gonzalo Jara feed Teixiera who in turn slipped in Dorrans.

The former Livingston ace turned Stoor inside out in the box to make room for a shot and then hammered the ball past Bywater and into the roof of the net from the tightest of angles.

However, with almost the last touch of the game, Campbell pounced to head home Hendrie's right-wing centre and snatch a share of the spoils.
