The Albion Foundation
THE Albion Foundation is a registered charity (Charity number 1081948) that works closely with West Bromwich Albion Football Club to deliver sporting and educational opportunities to the people of Sandwell and the surrounding boroughs.
Previously named West Bromwich Albion Community Programme we were formed in 1992 and became a registered charity in 2001.We are uniquely recognised for the quality delivery of sport and education both nationally and regionally.
We are proud of our strong partnerships developed over a number of years.

Rob Lake, Community Director,(Rob.lake@albionfoundation.co.uk and pictured above with Albion head coach Roberto Di Matteo), reports to a Board of Trustees who oversees the strategic development of the Charity and works with a Senior Management team of Jamie Bunch (james.bunch@albionfoundation.co.uk) who is responsible for Sport and Allison Tripney, (allison.tripney@albionfoundation.co.uk) responsible for Education and Learning.
We currently have a team of 34 contracted staff and a large number of part time staff and volunteers who are based at the Tom Silk Building on Halfords Lane, opposite the Hawthorns, which contains three classrooms, a recording studio and sports hall. The Albion Foundation has six departments within the Foundation who work collectively to provide a range of initiatives for our community whose aim is "Inspire to Achieve."

Schools and Community
- A wide range of football and multi-sport programmes in schools such as 'Planning, Preparation and Assessment' cover, after-school clubs and fundraising initiatives.
- Holiday Camps, Evening Centres, Match Day Packages, Club Development Support and Tournaments
- Junior Baggies Membership scheme (click here)
- Sports Hall available for hire for community groups

Inclusion
- Kickz is our main inclusion programme delivering diversionary activities for young people in identified areas where anti social behavior can be an issue
- Other inclusion initiatives are delivered in partnership with the Youth Offending Service, Youth Services, Prince's Trust and Pupil Referral Units
- Time Out works with young pupil at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools

Coaching and Workforce
- Delivery of FA Level 1 and Level 2 Football Coaching awards.
- Observation and quality assurance of delivery at every activity and within each project and programme.
- A full continuing professional development programme available for all staff.
- Development of a local workforce where 'grow your own' underpins our recruitment ethos.
- Pathways from volunteering to employment.

Multi Sports and Clubs
- Albion Community Sports Clubs are being developed in each town of Sandwell to provide competitive and recreational sport for young people aged 13 to 19
- Premier League 4 Sport provides opportunities for young people to try judo, badminton, volleyball and table tennis and progress to a club in each of the sports
- Sporting Club Albion consists of 7 girls and women's football teams, 7 disability teams covering a range of disabilities such as total blind, visually impaired wheelchair and pan disability. There will soon be junior basketball teams.

Sporting Club Albion gives young people and adults the opportunity to compete in various sports at various levels while representing 'West Bromwich Albion Football Club'.

Education and Learning
- Playing for Success is the national initiative where pupils attend our Study Support Centre for after-school provision to improve literacy, numeracy, IT skills, self esteem and confidence.
- A wide range of education programmes working in partnership with schools, young carers, looked after children and special schools.
- We have IMPACT coaches who are permanently based in schools who will provide a range of support depending on the needs of the school. This can be to improve educational attainment, attendance, behavior, engagement, self-esteem and confidence.
