Ridgewell supports attendance project

STUDENTS from Alexandra College of Enterprise are benefitting from The Albion Foundation’s attendance improvement project, ‘Triple A’.

The scheme featured on the BBC’s Match of the Day 2 programme - with Baggies defender Liam Ridgewell offering encouragement to youngsters at the Tipton-based school.

The initiative is part-funded by the Premier League Community Fund and Sandwell Local Authority and aims to improve pupil attendance figures.

Participating schools and reaped the rewards of the project with attendance at Bristnall Hall Academy, Oldbury Academy, The Phoenix Collegiate and Alexandra College all on the up.

‘Triple A’ coaches, Sam Buckle, Edwin Appiah, Andy Forman and Samantha Bradley were filmed by the cameras as they undertook their day-to-day responsibilities.

Ridgewell met with pupils and explained the procedure in place for first-team players should they be late for training.

For further information on the project please contact ‘Triple A’ head coach Sam Buckle by emailing sam.buckle@albionfoundation.co.uk.
