ALAN Irvine admits he could to turn to Stephane Sessegnon to help fill the wide positions in his team - as Albion continue their hunt for new recruits.
The Baggies boss is confident the Benin international can influence games from a number of positions in the forward areas this term.
And he hopes he can get the best out of him as he prepares to face his former club, Sunderland, tomorrow (ko 3pm).
“He’s got talent,” said Irvine.
“There is absolutely no question about that.
“He can affect games and change games.
“What you have to do is make sure he realises that he’s got a part to play and you believe in him.
“Players with his set of skills need to feel they are a good player and that you have confidence in them.
“The shame about Stephane is we missed him for three weeks in pre-season due to international duty, He missed our trip to America - that’s a shame."
He added: “We have to consider him in the wide areas.
“I think he would much rather play centrally but we have a lot of alternatives there and we don’t have so many alternatives in wide areas at this moment.
So, he is someone we would have to consider for that area along with several other players.
“He’s played in the No.10 role and in wide areas in pre-season.
“I would expect him to play in different roles over the course of the season.”
