Baggies defender star attraction at West Bromwich primary school

GARETH McAuley made a recent visit to Pennyhill Primary School, West Bromwich, to inspire Year 4 pupils.

As part of their PE lessons the students have been looking at footballers, their healthy lifestyles and the importance of engaging in regular exercise.

The Baggies defender was grilled by the children in a Q&A session on the subject, signed autographs and posed for photographs.

Pennyhill Primary School Assistant Head Teacher Alison Howells said: “Having completed some work earlier in the year about people who inspire us, the children who selected Gareth as their inspiration were ecstatic, as well as the whole year group.

“The children thought of excellent questions and the buzz of excitement from meeting Gareth still remains!”
