Interesting facts

Last year's 2-1 win at the Britannia Stadium was Albion's first at Stoke since September 1982.

The Baggies are only one victory away from recording their highest number of wins in a Premier League season (14) - and their best return in the top flight since 1984/85 (16).

Albion defeated Stoke 2-0 at The Victoria Ground on the first weekend of Football League fixtures back in September 1888. Joe Wilson and George Woodhall were on the scoresheet as the Baggies registered the first clean sheet in Football League history - almost 125 years ago.

The Potters have lost seven of their last nine Barclays Premier League games (W1, D1).

Albion are seven points better off than they were at this stage last season and are now only four points behind the 47 points amassed during the entire campaign.

Stoke team news

Tony Pulis will make a late decision on the fitness of winger Matthew Etherington (back). Cameron Jerome (knee) is also a doubt for the game, while Robert Huth will serve the final game of a three-match suspension for violent conduct. Republic of Ireland international Marc Wilson is likely to deputise alongside Ryan Shawcross in his absence.

Ref watch

Mike Dean will referee tomorrow’s game. The Wirrall official last oversaw the Baggies in their 2-1 defeat by Fulham on New Year's Day. Dean has dished out 105 yellow and four red cards in 30 games this term.
