Kiwi striker nets second goal in as many games

CHRIS Wood netted his eighth goal of the season in Millwall’s 2-0 victory at Blackburn on Saturday.

The New Zealand international struck a tremendous 25-yard effort past Paul Robinson to help the Lions climb into the Championship play-off places. 

Jerome Thomas played 75 minutes for Leeds as Neil Warnock’s side sealed a 2-1 win over then-league leaders Crystal Palace at Elland Road.

George Thorne played all of Peterborough’s 1-1 draw with fellow-strugglers Ipswich Town, while Saido Berahino bowed out of the Championship clash with 37 minutes remaining.

Cameron Gayle made his professional debut for Shrewsbury’s in their 1-0 defeat at Oldham. The 20-year-old central defender did not miss a minute of the League One fixture.

Scott Allan was substituted at half-time of Portsmouth’s 1-1 draw at Coventry.

Sam Mantom played the entirety of Walsall’s 1-1 draw with Hartlepool at the Banks’s Stadium, while Donervorn Daniels was an unused substitute in Tranmere’s 1-1 stalemate at Stevenage.
