Baggies defender scores again for England U21s - but it proves to be in vain

CRAIG Dawson scored his sixth England Under-21s goal – but it proved nothing more than a consolation as the Three Lions were knocked out of the European Championships at the group stage.

The Baggies defender earned and netted a 57th-minute penalty after Stuart Pearce’s men found themselves three goals down to Norway in Petah Tikva – eventually losing 3-1.

England, who also lost 1-0 to Italy on Wednesday, now face hosts Israel in their final group game, in Jerusalem, on Tuesday (ko 5pm BST) before flying home.
