And boss highlights skipper as example
STEVE Clarke has warned his players they may have to be 'patient' when it comes to first-team chances this season.
The Baggies boss highlighted the example of Saturday's star performer, Chris Brunt.
The Albion skipper played just ten minutes as a substitute in the opening three Barclays Premier League games - but delivered on his first start of the campaign at Craven Cottage.
And, after a flurry of summer signings, Clarke admits he will have to disappoint some players every week as he picks from what he has called a 'complete squad'.
"Chris has had to be patient," said the Hawthorns chief.
"Others will have to be patient at various stages of the season too.
"Chris was unfortunate. He picked up an injury just before we started the season.
"He didn't get in the first three teams but with Chris I know what I'm getting.
"He's a player who understands his role in the team, he does a good job for us in the team.
"His set-play deliveries are important and he did very well on Saturday."
