NICOLAS Anelka has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against his former club Liverpool (ko 1.30pm) due to a knee injury.
The Baggies striker was forced off after 25 minutes and required seven stitches after suffering a bad cut in a challenge with Matt Lowton, in Wednesday’s derby at Villa.
But Pepe Mel is hopeful the former France international will return to training next week.
He will also be without Stephane Sessegnon as he continues his rehabilitation from a minor groin operation last week.
But the Albion head coach has no other injury worries ahead of the Hawthorns encounter with the Reds.
